Evaporative tra$c hydrocarbon emissions, tra$c CO and speciated HC tra$c emissions from the city of Athens

چکیده
Quasi-continuous measurements of NO x , CO and C 5 }C 12 hydrocarbons made during the MEDCAPHOT-TRACE experiment in a street canyon with heavy tra$c load were used to estimate the CO/NO x and 36 individual NMHC/NO x tra$c emission ratios in the Athens basin. A tra$c emission inventory has been compiled for Athens and aspects of this inventory were tested against measurements. The results indicate that although the main features of the 9:00 to 15:00 variations of the NMHC/NO x and CO/NO x inventory emission ratios are in agreement with observations, during the rest of the day the "ne structure of the variations of these ratios cannot be accurately predicted by the inventory. Comparison of pollutant emission ratios derived from ambient measurements with emission ratios predicted by existing inventories for Athens reveals serious discrepancies. Further, the experimental results and theoretical considerations indicate that the speciation of evaporative emissions changes with increasing ambient temperature in favour of the most volatile HC species, thus changing the speciation of tra$c emissions during the course of the day. This is an aspect that is not taken into account in present urban photochemical modelling inventories. ( 1999 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.

Urban Traffic Modelling and Prediction Using Large Scale Taxi GPS Traces
Monitoring, predicting and understanding tra c conditions in a city is an important problem for city planning and environmental monitoring. GPS-equipped taxis can be viewed as pervasive sensors and the large-scale digital traces produced allow us to have a unique view of the underlying dynamics of a city’s road network. In this paper, we propose a method to construct a model of tra c density ba...

With the rapid increase in urban development, it is critical to utilize dynamic sensor streams for trac understanding, especially in larger cities where route planning or infrastructure planning is more critical. is creates a strong need to understand trac paerns using ubiquitous sensors to allow city ocials to be better informed when planning urban construction and to provide an understan...
متن کاملTra c ow : a statistical physics point of view
The investigation of tra c ow problems has a long tradition and various methods and approaches have been applied. In this review we focus on statistical mechanics and nonequilibrium aspects. It is shown that many properties of tra c ow can be modelled successfully by using rather simple cellular automaton models. Analytical methods for the investigation of discrete models are presented in some ...
متن کاملOptimal characteristics determination of engine mounting system using TRA mode decoupling with emphasis on frequency responses
It is possible to improve vehicle vibration by tuning the parameters of engine mounting system. By optimization of mount characteristics or finding the optimal position of mounts, vibration of the engine and transmitted force from the engine to the chassis can be reduced. This paper examines the optimization of 6-degree-of-freedom engine mounting system based on torque roll axis (TRA) mode deco...
